Therapist | Confidential Confessions Counseling, PLLC

For more than a decade, Keisha Saunders-Waldron has dedicated herself to helping others as the Chief Executive Officer at Confidential Confessions Counseling, PLLC since 2015. Through this private practice, she provides holistic and client-centered therapy to individuals, couples, and families to improve mental stability and decision-making skills and eliminate stress and anxiety, among a wide range of outpatient behavioral health needs. In addition, she specializes in guidance on corporate workplace-based anxiety and both individual and couples counseling. For each client, she focuses on evaluation, assessment, care development, and care management.

A Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Approved Clinical Supervisor, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, and National Certified Counselor with degrees in psychology and mental health counseling, Ms. Saunders-Waldron launched her career as a mental health therapist at Agape Psychological Consortium, PLLC, where she was active from 2010 to 2020; in the midst of this role, she started her own firm. An accomplished name in her field, she has lent her expertise to students at Northwestern University in Illinois since 2020, serving as a University Clinical Supervisor and an adjunct professor. She also considers one of the most notable achievements of her career to be when an article she wrote about PTSD among veterans—“Shining a Spotlight on PTSD: Raising Awareness About the Condition”—was published in the Baltimore Times in 2023. While the military population is taught to be strong, she said she saw an opportunity to speak up about the need for help and support for those suffering from the disorder.

In addition, Ms. Saunders-Waldron wrote the article “7 Emotional Challenges to Manage When Changing Careers” for Forbes in 2023. She also stays updated about her field through memberships with the American Counseling Association, North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, National Society of Leadership and Success, and Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International. Looking toward the future, she has set a goal for herself to be recognized as one of the top mental health practitioners in the United States; to achieve this, she plans to be featured on the cover of Forbes within the next three to five years. On top of this, she hopes to establish a franchise of counseling practices that can deliver high-quality services, as well as train and mentor 1,000 students to become skilled counselors and fill the shortage in the field.

Growing up, Ms. Saunders-Waldron had to overcome many obstacles to get to where she is today. She was born with cerebral palsy, but her parents never allowed that to define her, to which she attributes much of her success. She’s also constantly motivated by her two children; when she isn’t working, she’s spending time with them, teaching them to “approach their goals as a marathon and not a sprint.”
